SHF/SHG Type Harmonic Reducer Bearings

The bearings for SHF/SHG-type harmonic reducers are of a design featuring both an integral outer ring and an integral inner ring. Since both the outer and inner rings are constructed as a single piece, installation has virtually no impact on performance, and these bearings can achieve stable rotational accuracy and torque. They are suitable for various types of reducers in the SHF (SHG) series.

SHF/SHG Type Harmonic Reducer Bearing Installation

      1. Before installation

The installation location must be clean, and before installation, the surface of the bearing pedestal and surrounding components should be cleaned to check for any protruding burrs.

      2. Installing...

Next, place the bearing horizontally over the bearing’s port and use a tool to carefully and slowly insert the bearing. The process must be clean and slow—avoid damaging the bearing.

      3. After installation

After installation is complete, check whether the bearing is properly seated, whether its rotation is smooth and free of any jerks or jams, and whether there is any damage.

    Application areas

The SHF/SHG-type harmonic reducer bearing is a specialized配套 bearing designed specifically for SHF/SHG-type harmonic reducers.

Maintenance Methods for Bearings in SHF/SHG Type Harmonic Reducers

      1. Bearing cleaning

      (1) Before cleaning, first remove the harmonic drive gearbox bearings from the machine tool and inspect them.

      (2) By examining the appearance of the bearing, confirm whether there is any residual lubricant and, if so, estimate the amount of residue. We need to record this information in advance.

      (3) Secondly, after sampling the remaining lubricant, store it properly for easy inspection.

      (4) We use gasoline and kerosene as cleaning agents to clean the disassembled bearings. The cleaning process consists of two stages: coarse cleaning and fine precision cleaning. During cleaning, a metal mesh should be placed at the bottom of the cleaning container to prevent the bearings from coming into contact with any debris in the container. Note that during coarse cleaning, the bearings must be free of any foreign particles; otherwise, the rolling surfaces of the bearings could be damaged. After thoroughly removing grease and adhering substances from the bearings during coarse cleaning, proceed to fine precision cleaning. In the fine precision cleaning stage, the bearings are rotated while being cleaned in the cleaning oil. The cleaning oil used for bearing cleaning must be kept clean.

      2. Bearing Maintenance

The maintenance of bearings for SHF and SHG harmonic reducers is primarily aimed at determining whether the bearings can continue to be used. This work should be carried out after the bearings have been thoroughly cleaned. At this stage, we should carefully inspect the condition of the bearing raceways, rolling elements, mating surfaces, the degree of wear on the retainer, whether the bearing clearance has increased, and whether dimensional accuracy has deteriorated. For small bearings that cannot be separated from the equipment, we can support the inner ring of the bearing horizontally with one hand and, using the other hand, rotate the outer ring to check whether the bearing rotates smoothly. For large harmonic reducer bearings that cannot be inspected by hand, we should examine the appearance of components such as the rolling elements, raceways, and retainers.
